100 Posts of Feminist Truth
By Suzanne MacNevin - August 2010.
FEMINISM - This is my 100th post on this blog. I first started this blog in March 2007 and I've wrote posts on everything from Confronting Misogyny to Sports Bras to Satellite Babies to Female Rites of Passage.
But wait, there's also The Truth about Frank D'Angelo, an article which reveals what a scumbag he is, how he raped a young woman and how he is currently charged with obstruction of justice and conspiracy.
Well it turns out Frank D'Angelo is now threatening to sue me for $2 million, because I called him a rapist and "an idiotic fop". Except I live in London England and he apparently doesn't have the balls to come over to England and sue me in person. (Why? Because he doesn't want the negative press from such an idiotic and frivolous lawsuit... I can just see the headlines... "Rapist Sues Feminist for calling him a Rapist"...)
But the truth is Frank D'Angelo is a rapist. Even the judge in his sexual assault trial said he was "probably guilty" but let him off because there wasn't enough hard evidence to convict him. D'Angelo had to bribe TWO crown prosecutors and a cop to get off the sexual assault charges in 2009... (Methinks some of the evidence went missing and the two crown lawyers didn't do a proper job.) Bribing and abusing the legal system is well... illegal. No other way to say it.
So people calling him a rapist or "an idiotic fop" is really minor in the big picture. He has bigger worries, like spending time in jail for conspiracy/obstruction of justice. The Ontario Provincial Police have photos of Frank D'Angelo meeting with Michael Rutigliano (a known corrupt cop and mafia member wanted for fraud and conspiracy to commit fraud) and the two crown lawyers.
So is this 100th post going to be my last? Hell no. I am not going to be bullied with a frivolous lawsuit. It doesn't matter if Frank D'Angelo sues us for $2 million, $20 million, $2,000 or a mere $2. He won't get a single penny for his efforts.
But he will get a lot more bad press if he pushes my buttons. I will scream to high heaven and call him all sorts of things which are likewise true. And I've dug up a chunk of research on this guy in the event he really does grow some balls, come to England and sue me properly.
For example:
The point is I can back up everything I say about Frank D'Angelo. I may not have video of him raping the young woman (or other forms of "hard evidence"), but we have her sworn testimony and the fact that Frank D'Angelo is a complete sleazebag. And if forced to go through the court system I am fully willing to go over EVERY LITTLE DETAIL of Frank D'Angelo's life and reveal to the whole world what a complete scumbag he is.
Why? Because I believe in truth, justice and karma. Guys like him have to be stood up to.
If I was a newspaper I'd have to use the word "allegedly" but frankly I've had it up to here with newspapers which say things like "the alleged rapist was caught redhanded and is charged with conspiracy, obstruction of justice and sexual assault". Reporters skirt around what they really should be saying when its obvious to the whole world the guy is guilty.
But I am not a reporter. I am an academic. As an academic I write ESSAYS and in them I assert my opinion and then back it up with facts and information. I could write a whole book on The Life and Times of the Scumbag Rapist Frank D'Angelo if so motivated.
The point is I believe in the Truth and I am pretty hardcore about it. I will fight to my last dying breath bringing the truth to the world.
But honestly, is Frank D'Angelo worth wasting my time on? No, not really. Presumably karma will work its thing and Frank will spend the next couple of decades regretting his illegal and unethical actions and paying the ultimate price for being a two-faced liar and a rapist. Its no sweat off my back, I have faith that karma will catch up to him in the end.
Meanwhile I got bigger fish to fry. There is a whole world of patriarchy out there, other truths to tell, justices to fight for, and its just a matter of knowing which fights to fight.
Truth, Justice and the Feminist Way!
Yours Truthfully,
Suzanne MacNevin
